Fireworks: A Grand and Meticulous Restaurant Design

Combining European Architectural Elements for a Unique Dining Experience

Inside the building, the white-based, black-lined lobby immediately attracts the guests' attention with its grand and sophisticated atmosphere. It is placed in the grandeur of a classical Gothic church with four white marble columns and a high dome space; the ceiling and the floor are spliced with decorative sculptures and water-jet cutting techniques.

Yi-Ling Lin, the renowned designer behind the Fireworks restaurant, has created a truly remarkable dining experience that seamlessly blends European architectural elements with modern design concepts. As a wedding banquet hall and self-service restaurant, this project combines the owners' needs to create a grand building and a beautiful atmosphere for family gatherings.

The design of Fireworks is characterized by its meticulous attention to detail and its incorporation of various European architectural styles. Lin has skillfully integrated neoclassical, decorative elements, Goethe-inspired designs, theater frames, and old city street motifs, resulting in an architecture and interior design that is both grand and brilliant.

One of the standout features of Fireworks is the staircase, which not only introduces ample natural light with semi-transparent materials but also creates stunning light and shadow effects through the use of bright black bricks and reflective materials. Additionally, the round fireworks chandeliers, varying in height, add a touch of magic to the space, creating different style effects during the day and night.

The interior design of Fireworks is equally impressive. The banquet hall's door is adorned with meticulous lines and classical line boards, incorporating warm details and earthy colors. The square motif is echoed throughout the interior, with church-style wallpaper and log-like beams on the ceiling, complemented by rivet iron pieces that evoke an ancient European ambiance.

Fireworks also offers a unique dining experience through its buffet area, which mimics the charming streets of old European cities. By combining a restaurant and a storefront design, guests can enjoy the sensation of strolling through the streets while savoring their meals, adding an extra layer of fun to the dining experience.

The project was completed in August 2017 in Changhua County, Taiwan. Throughout the design process, Lin conducted extensive research to ensure that every element of Fireworks was meticulously crafted and thoughtfully executed. The gold-leaf disc chandeliers on the ceiling, resembling lamps and candles, not only provide lighting but also serve as visual focal points, creating a mysterious and dreamy atmosphere.

Despite the creative and technical challenges faced during the design process, such as incorporating huge white columns to create a sense of grandeur and using floor-to-ceiling gray glass and black lines to map different totems indoors, Lin successfully overcame these obstacles. The result is a design that showcases beautiful light and shadow changes, making the most of natural sunlight and reducing the need for excessive artificial lighting during the day.

Fireworks is a testament to the power of design to create a truly immersive and unforgettable dining experience. By combining European architectural elements, Lin has crafted a space that is both grand and meticulous, inside and out. Whether it's a wedding banquet or a casual family gathering, Fireworks provides an atmosphere filled with warm elements, making every moment spent there truly special.
